Julie Mae Cohen’s Bad Men is a fast paced, dark romance with bits of mystery, thriller, and rom-com. There were parts where I literally laughed out loud and other parts when I audibly asked wtf?! Bad Men is a fun, entertaining, quick read.

TW: The book starts out with a shocking implication of CSA, which I wasn’t prepared for. There are only references to previous assaults, but some readers may want be aware before starting reading.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced audio of Bad Men.

Thank you NetGalley for this audiobook

Book 2 in my roadtrip and I really enjoyed this one!! It was a touch slow in the middle and I honestly expected more of Saffy's POV and previous crimes but the latter half and ending absolutely paid off. I would love to read more of Saffy in the future and more about her previous murders (I don't really care for John tbh, but it does play into my love of books of psychopath women protecting bumbling detectives ala The Kind Worth Killing). The combination of Saffy righting wrongs via murder while also being wildly rich and uptight was very entertaining and the narrator played her voice to perfection. Definitely keeping my eye out for Eat Slay Love!

What a ride- I found this book to be very readable, but unhinged thriller. This is a story of a feminist serial killer looking for love. It has very dark humor, and is definitely not for anyone who is squeamish. It’s definitely a page turner. I thought the ending was going to be predictable, but then I was surprised!

really enjoyed this, it was funny and loved that it was a fucked up female character and a good male character. her inner monologue was hilarious. the end was interesting
because they kind of lived happily fucked up ever after, and we never know if he finds out what she does or what her plan is moving forward, whether she will keep on killing and if so, how she keeps it hidden from him
. easy read and enjoyed the writing style.

A fast read and a good story. Not what I was hoping it would be, though. The book turned into Jon story rather than Saffy focused.

And I could not get over
the dog in the well scene
, that was completely unnecessary.

Apart from that it was an enjoyable read.
