this is a classic which everyone knows in one way or another, even if most people probably haven't read the original.

the story is simple: a man bets that he can travel around the world within 80 days and then finds himself in the difficult position of having to follow up on this word. the story is humorous at times and gives some interesting insights into travelling in remote areas at that point of history (though of course, things cannot always be taken at face value).

the book itself is good, though sometimes you might wish for more action and for the story to go a bit deeper.
