I'm not a big fan of [a:Mo Willems|33274|Mo Willems|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1199684071p2/33274.jpg] but this book is a little funny. And it's very simple, so my son can read it all by himself. Good humor for two to 4 year olds.

Not as funny as other Willems books but sure to please the very early easy readers that are not quiet ready for the complexity of Elephant & Piggie. Very cute.

Blargie, blargie!
I checked this book out without knowing this was the author of the well-loved [b:Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus|191113|Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus|Mo Willems|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1184485355s/191113.jpg|884960]. I only realized it when the Pigeon made a cameo appearance.
I have to admit that I wasn't digging this book at all until I got to the blargie, blargie. ♥

The simplest Willems for the youngest use, but really perhaps too simple. I agree with a reviewer who stated this might be better suited as a board book than in picture book form. It's saved by the alien/monster at the end ("Blarggie Blarggie!") and a sweet message, though.
