Funny, romantic, sweet, and sexy! Word Play has it all.

As a (small time) blogger, I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions. Amalie has absolutely nailed the reading/blogging community. There were even times when I wondered who she possibly pulled her inspiration from (I could think of a blogger or two that fit). While I enjoyed the romantic side of the book, the satire of the community is what stole the show. It made me both grateful I'm not a larger part of the reading/blogging community (ew, drama) and wonder how I could become more involved (who doesn't want to be more well known?).

The romance, while it did take a backseat for me, was fun. It was sweet, fresh, and different than your typical romances. I loved the banter between Michael and Lauren. To top it all off, the sexy scenes were just that... sexy! I didn't roll my eyes a single time throughout the entire book (and that's a total win!).

Of course, I recommend Word Play. Whether you're a blogger, author, or just a reader... if you have a sense of humor, you'll love it.

I loved this book! It was funny, sexy, and sweet all rolled into one fantastic book. Very original - I don't think I've read another book like it. It was witty and humorous and I loved reading it. At first, I had a hard time getting into it because the beginning seemed too satirical but then about 10% in I became hooked and couldn't put it down. Loved it! Highly recommend!! Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Seriously, funniest book ever about this industry. Possibly more funny if you can think of bloggers that act the way the interviewees act. I was sitting there silently praying please God, don’t let me ever ever EVER come off like these people. :D

You’ve read the blurb, you know what it’s about. You don’t need me to rehash it when what I really want to say is I LOVED this book. I think every blogger should read this. You will nod your head and be praying to whoever will listen that this is not about you. (For real, I’m pretty I don’t act like the bloggers here, but if I did, someone feel free to slap me upside the head.)

There was one interview with a tour/promotional company that cracked me up and I am pretty sure she wasn’t describing anyone of the tour people I know, I hope, nobody has threatened my first born yet.

On to the story, I loved the characters, I loved the attitudes behind the pen name(s), who they were when they were themselves and who they were when they were putting on a persona. I loved the Michael like so many of the authors I know when they get into that writing zone, though I think the majority of them bath, and most are pumped up on coffee while on a good writing spurt.

The hot scenes were hot, the fun scenes were fun, there was a little bit of pulling on the heartstrings, and now I really want to go to a convention just so I can watch the extreme fan girls fawning over authors (and meet the authors who I have become friends with, that’s really why I want to go).

I think Amalie hit a homerun with this one, if not with everyone, at least with bloggers, authors, and anyone who has ever been to a convention (yes, I’m a bit jealous). Love the fun cover, love the book! Thank you so much for my copy of Word Play! Too much fun!

P.S. Will someone please tell me what “smeeping” is? :D

The words flowed like honey. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop.

You couldn't help but to really like both Lauren & Michael as they fumble and muddle through their lives.

This book has; Laughter, Adult Romance, and a Sense of Reality in the humanness in its characters. They aren't perfect. They don't have super powers nor are they billionaires.

I highly recommend this book to all readers.

"Received and ARC for an honest review"

Michael an author meets the blogger, Monica, sparks ignite. But not in the conventional way, what can he do to catch her attention... he pushes her, yeah you read right. This romantic story is funny, romantic and just a great one day read. I totally recommend it and will be looking forward for more books from this author the writing is just awesome.

Smut Hut Approved

I thought the prequel was good but it has nothing on the book itself.
I loved Monica's Musings sprinkled in for fun.
I really liked the whole crazy cluster fudge of WTF going back and forth.
I also really liked the snippets of work by the authors in the book.
Such a fun and sweet story that leaves you hoping for more but knowing your imagination can fill in their future.
Thanks Amalie for another great story!

Great read! It was pretty funny and the love story was good as well! A fun look into the writing world from a writers perspective.
