One of the most hauntingly beautiful books I've read by one of my favorite authors. It's very Fitzgeraldian in some ways, except - and I can't believe I'd say this, since I love Fitzgerald - better.

This is an in depth study on about a decade of the life of Marjorie. As she goes from late teen years to mid 20s. An aspiring actress, it follows her "career" and her dating/love life and what becomes of a Jewish woman in a changing world in the 30-40s. It was interesting.

This book had been sitting on my shelf for eons and finally decided to read it......Enjoyed it although i felt for a book the length that it was, there were times that the details of events was skimpy and other times things could have been moved along a bit quicker.

A surprisingly enjoyable read given it's length. Interesting insight into the life of a young woman in the 1930's stumbling her way through admiration, infatuation, lust and love.
