I had a bit of a hard time keeping the characters strait. But that might just be because I was listening to the book instead of reading it. But I loved the story!

Huh no way, I thought there would only be 3 books. Well I'd totally read this because I really liked The Power of Six, though I do have to read The Rise of Nine still. I wonder how many books will be in this series?

You know, when you can't believe what you just read, you can't believe you feel almost teary, then it must be good. I'm a little stunned by the ending. I had already guessed the traitor, he was pretty damn shifty, but you kind of overlook it because he's a self-proclaimed, socially awkward person. The next thing. I was relieved when certain prophecies were avoided in the previous book. But then in this one, you realise, there are some that just can't be avoided in the end. And pairings. My heart is with Marina at the end there. She and Eight are so cute together.

The Plot
The Garde are finally reunited, but do they have what it takes to win the war against the Mogadorians?

John Smith—Number Four—thought that things would change once the Garde found each other. They would stop running. They would fight the Mogadorians. And they would win.

But he was wrong. After facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being annihilated, the Garde know they are drastically unprepared and hopelessly outgunned. Now they’re hiding out in Nine’s Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.

The six of them are powerful, but they’re not strong enough yet to take on an entire army—even with the return of an old ally. To defeat their enemy, the Garde must master their Legacies and learn to work together as a team. More importantly, they’ll have to discover the truth about the Elders and their plan for the Loric survivors.

And when the Garde receive a sign from Number Five—a crop circle in the shape of a Loric symbol—they know they are so close to being reunited. But could it be a trap? Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it’s too late.

The Garde may have lost battles, but they will not lose this war.

Lorien will rise again.

There aren't many plot twists in this one, but there is a major plot twist at the end which I had never expected. Gosh, it made me teary.

The Characters

They have all grown on me. Even Nine. He's more likeable in this one I think, in comparison to the one before. I like that the author gives us different perspectives. Though the font for Sam's voice and Marina's are nearly the same, so I had a bit of a hard time distinguishing sometimes, especially if their sections were one after another. But it's funny, we have really only seen from Four/John's perspective, Seven/Marina, Six/Maren, I think? I wonder what's it like inside Nine's head. He seems like a bag of fun lol.

The Setting
Chicago. They are in Chicago in Nine's wicked awesome apartment.

Overall
A great sequel. This just gets better with every sequel I read. There's everything. There's emotion, action, love, conflicts, fights, wars, battles, friendship, family, happy moments, sad moments, and expectation. I have expectations for the next one, and it better blow my mind! Gosh, I hardly even know what to say about this one. It's just awesome.

3.5 STARS

I have been a huge fan of this series since book #1 was released. While I liked this book, I felt it added little to the overall series. Finally, the whole team is together and nothing really happened....except training. There were no huge battles and little excitement until the ending. The only thing that saved the book for me was the last quarter, which was a heart breaker! The book was told from multiple POVs, which was too overwhelming. The chapters were not even identified by character or front to note a shit in POV.

I will definitely continue the series and wait another long year for the next installment.

We've got the whole team together! They're pudgier and dorkier than expected, but I'm cool with it. Let's go blow some shit up."

My grin splits my face-it's more than just being united with my best friend, it's the feeling that we're going to be part of something great together. We're going to save the world.

I’m not sure what the author could have done differently, but by this point the books are being bogged down by too large a cast of characters. If each of the 9 are going to be so different in temperament, then they must have differences in their backstory. I would have preferred more insight into the individual backstories. The plot is still engaging, however.

Age range: 14+
Younger readers may find it a little too violent.

Man, they are getting better and better with each book! By the title, I was expecting it to go one way, but it completely went the other! And I am all for it! I am looking forward to continuing the series!

THEORY: The main Mog leader guy is Lorac. And he is Ella's dad? Maybe? Not sure.... we shall see

This is book four in the Lorien Legacies series - which I highly recommend - so if you don't want books 1, 2 and 3 spoilt, please don't read on!

A Spoiler Free Bit About The Book

The whole gang gets together at last!

My Review

Okay, out of all four of the Lorien Legacies books I've read so far, this was my least favourite, so it was sort of disappointing because the third one was my favourite.

It felt too slow to start considering how fast and action-packed book three was. This had me struggling to get into it like the others that I could hardly put down.

It was also sometimes difficult to follow. Each book brings a new point of view. Book one was Four/John Smith then we added Marina/Seven in book two and Six in book three and now Sam. I'm not saying that I don't like these POVs. I actually think it's amazing that I like them all. But you can tell who is speaking at a glance based on the fonts used but now some of the fonts are similar and I had to really concentrate to figure out who was in charge. But during one scene, it jumped around so much I almost completely lost what was going on. It was such a shame because Lore's action sequences are usually so clear.

The ending was a bit boring to be honest with you. I've come to expect a certain level of wow with these books and this one just didn't pack as much of a punch. I got to the exciting part and I started turning pages and getting into it and then it ended. I was like, "oh . . . it's over?"

But even after all this, it was still great.

Evaluation

Overall 8/10

Would I recommend it? Yes. I love this series.

Would I look up the author? Yes. I will be reading book five as soon as I get my hands on it.

The Fall of Five wasn't quite as good as its predecessors but it was still great.

Well, it took me a while to think about it and write something about this book.

First, this book is OMFGSOAMAZINGICANTBELIEVEIT! I read in one day. Seriously, from the moment i started i couldn't stop. It's like, i couldn't, there is no way you stop. It glues in your hands and in your mind and you go on and on and on.

As i said in the previous book, this series improves itself book by book. It only gets better. I am number four was good, slow, like a introduction for everything. The Power of Six was amazing and I loved, then came The Rise of Nine and it blowed my mind completely. I remeber using metaphor of a roller coaster that only goes up and up and up. Now, this book it is the real amazing masterpiece! I hated number five from the start. He was weird, saying non sense things, mysterious.

Nine is my baby boy perfection super badass love of my life. I am praying for him not be dead in the next book. I was super sad about Eight's death. I said he was kind of weak, but in this book, he seemed strong and confident and not showing everything he could do. From all the Garde, he was the one with the most cool tricks. Teleportation, Shape Shifting, what is cooler than that?

Marina showed some evolution, now finally strong. I was amazed by her whe she finally attacked Five and got strong and powerful. Now just for reading her voice in the next book give me chills!!! OMG Marina, powerful. Go girl, you got it!!

Ella. I thought she was kind of too dramatic, but then i remember she is just a young scared child. My theory is that she is the granddaughter of Setrákus Ra. All that story Crayton wrote in the letter, makes me think Setrakus Ra is or was the elder excluded from the Ten Elders.

Can't wait for read the Revenge of Seven. :D
