Fast-paced writing made it easy for me to fly through this novel. Heavy on paranormal activity and a tiny bit of romance. I liked it very well and look forward to more in this series.

Just awful. I expected there to be more about the back story and history of the lab. Almost all of the backstory is only in the synopsis! The characters were also shallow, the dialogue was cringe, and the climax was dull.

It’s been awhile since I grabbed a book from this author....pandemic equals no bookstore runs. This one was published in January and sold for half price at a second hand store. Highly enjoyable! This author knows how to grab you and pull you into a story. I can’t wait for more by Fogg Lake!

Eh. Not sure how I felt about this one. I listened to the audiobook so the narrator might’ve been the problem. She kept narrating in what sounded like and intentionally babyish voice that grated.  Plus it’s uncomfortable to listen to someone who sounds 13 narrate a graphic sex scene.
The characters lacked development and the dialogue was cringey at times.
This is the second book of hers I’ve read and they both felt disjointed at times. Like one more round of editing and it would’ve been a cohesive story.
If you’re in the mood for a light paranormal romance, give it a go.

Am I missing something? I thought there would be more about the incident at Fogg Lake that let residents tap into hidden paranormal talents. I feel like I'm missing chapters in this book.

2.5 stars. Was expecting a good paranormal mystery. Was a dud and could have ended much earlier.
