If you're looking for "representation", there is some. While I don't recall physical descriptors, the names of some of the characters suggest (fantasy-equivalent) Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian heritage. Viola, who is probably meant to be interpreted as fantasy-Black, is still a prominent character. Shazi has a magic prosthetic leg: she lost her original leg.
