This was so good and unpredictable. I loved it so much more than I thought I would.

This book was an absolute mind fuck. I'm really sad that I didn't annotate this book with neon pink and yellow flags because holy moly that was a lot to think about. Awad's writing is beautiful. Extremely poetic and witty.
Spoiler She really did pull an M.Knight Shyamalan there! By the end, I could not tell what was real and what was fake.
Some parts of the book I found rather confusing but I would not say this is a bad thing. Because the book takes place in a contemporary setting it's a little tricky to feel out certain plot details.
Spoiler *Cough, Cough* the supernatural and the plot twist.
I know this book is sitting on a lot of lists and it's definitely worth getting your hands or your paws (because 'Hands are hard, Bunny'<3) on a copy.

This book was insane but I loved every second of it. When I picked it up I had heard of it being referred to as a ‘dark academia’ book, and while I guess this could be true, the tone of Bunny is very different from your typical college secret society and/or murder mystery trope. It lowkey comes together as a love child of Fight Club, Mean Girls, Frankenstein, and a little bit of the Secret History. Although that sounds odd, trust me, it works. I’m still shocked and I feel like I need to pick it back up again so I can go through and find all of the small hints that lead to the twists that wrap up the story. The ending left me satisfied and still very curious as to where Samantha will go from here.

If you're looking for a Lovecraft-inspired novel about the cosmic horror of toxic female friendships, I'm happy to tell you that your extremely specific search is at an end.

Just finished the book. Staring at my kindle in quiet shock. So many twists and turns while still being a deeply emotional story. Samantha felt so real and relatable that even as she fucked up, evidently made the worst choices ever, I couldn’t help but root for her and cry with her when things went south. In these types of books it's so easy to write a main character that is snotty and uninteresting because of their outside-ness but Mona made Samantha's head a warm and welcoming place to be in - she is every single one of us who ever had the misfortune of having to work with rich people, and she doesn't blame herself for feeling justified resentment at the bullshit around her.

Also Ava and Samantha had more chemistry than half of the famous gay relationships that are lauded about as the hottest thing in every single social media app. I'm gonna go cry in a fetal position now, BYE.

Wow this was one of the strangest yet most enjoyable books I’ve read this year. Dark, zany, and heartbreakingly beautiful.
