A book with heart. This sweet story moves 2 siblings through the anticipation and trepidation of starting a new ballet class, dedication to a group project, and celebrating a successful performance. The story and joyful illustrations show children diverse in their appearance and abilities throughout the book.
A 9 page appendix includes labeled pictures of ballet positions, interviews with young ballet dancers (the author’s children, who inspired the book), short biographies of professional ballet dancers from around the world, and inspiring photographs from The International Ballet School Stockholm. This makes for a great mix of additional information for readers who want to learn more about the book’s focus.
