I know there are two more books and so we'll most likely figure out who the killer is and why, but it felt like there was no resolution at all in this book - no satisfaction at the end as we have no idea who the killer is or why they were doing it.
2.75 stars, not sure if I'll be continuing the series.

It was nice to read another of Cameron Roubique's novels, after how much I enjoyed Disco Death Trap! This book's summary tells you it's an 80s slasher-style horror in theme and tone, and it absolutely delivers on that front! I've been listening to a lot of the fan recordings of 80s slasher movie novelizations done by The 80s Slasher Librarian on YouTube, and Kill River has a lot of the same tone, tension, adrenaline and bloody violence as in those 80s novelizations. I think it's a fun tribute to the genre, an inventive twist on a slasher story (a water park slasher!) and a pretty good read to get hyped for the summer. I'll need to pick up the two sequel novels sometime soon!

A slasher flick presented as a book that takes awhile to get going. The writing is simple, which works super great during the portions of the book with the killer, but not as well at the start; it reads like a mediocre young adult novel until it picks up. I read the final third of the book pretty much in one sitting.
Moderate: Death, Gore, and Blood
Minor: Fatphobia, Homophobia, Vomit, and Sexual harassment
