Ok, finally a Max Monroe book that I pretty much liked from the start. I don’t love their writing style. A little over the top trying to be “cool” but they write good spice and I actually like the storylines. As with the other books I’ve read the Hero was

Edit#2: I re-read this 3/15/22 & I’m just gonna drop another star. The H calling the h, kid all the time is just gross. I thought maybe I was being too harsh last time, but no…no I wasn’t.

Ex. “And that’s how you sext, kid.”
“I love you, kid”
After a passionate kiss, “Good night, kid.”
“Are you aroused right now, kid?”

He’s 6 years older than her.

A great book. I enjoyed the story, the pacing & the main characters. Max Monroe rarely disappoint. I do wish, however, they had not named their heroine, Maybe. Naming your main character an adverb is deliberately misleading, especially in a paragraph when you use the name, Maybe and the adverb, maybe. Just unnecessarily difficult. But, other than that, it’s definitely a five⭐️ book.

Edit:
I just remembered something that was not cool about the book. The H called the h “kid” all the time. I thought he’d stop when they actually started having sex, but no, no bueno. Also “Cap” is just Thatch with a different name. 4⭐️’s

Need a good laugh? This is the book for you. A girl who has had a crush on her brother's best friend since she was eleven runs across him for the first time in about a decade and he has no clue who she is. But do you think she is going to let that stop her when she's bound and determined to lose her virginity to him. Saying she is awkward is an understatement. Some of the things that come out of her mouth will have you rolling in laughter. And that poor billionaire doesn't know what hit him. Aside from a book full of laughs, there are a couple more serious and emotional scenes as well. If you are familiar with the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you will recognize some of the side characters (and they bring in additional laughs... not they it was needed.) ;) Despite some of the sexiness of it, there isn't a whole lot of action (if you know what I mean,) though there is talk of it throughout, and some of that is too much for the younger readers. It is a fun filled book with lots of crazy antics, but really, it's the characters that make this book. If you are looking for a good fun light-hearted, not too deep read, grab this one! You won't be disappointed.

*I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.

Couldn’t put it down!

One of the books that kept me up at night until I finished the entire thing in one sitting! I’m new to this author but will definitely read more. Laugh out loud funny and I could honestly put myself in Maybe’s place. More of these stat!!!!!

This is a brother's best friend, friends to lover, minor age gap (6 years?), light, fun, quick read.
I don't know how this book is this long but it goes by quickly and I don't think there is anything I'd cut to make it shorter. The relationship-building between the MCs is well done and believable. I love seeing characters from other Max Monroe books (although I wish there was a footnote telling the reader what book/series the side characters are from).
While it's a nice read, there is nothing particularly special about this book and I likely will not re-read it. I don't regret reading it and I will finish the series.
The spice level is very low. Nice, but a low quanity of it and pretty basic (although it makes sense for these MC).
3/5 Plot
