I am SO torn on how to rate this book. I have moments I absolutely love and moments that kinda make me cringe a bit, it's really not a bad book - I also wouldn't say it's the best one I've read. The best part of the book was the main characters and their relationship - they definitely had chemistry, they are definitely genuine and unique. That being said I am always against any book that uses pop culture references because it badly dates the book. My BIGGEST complaint in this book is I do feel it adds to the stigma that girls/women have to constantly compete and compare each other and I'm not here for that.

Cupcake by Cookie O’Gorman was a super cute book that swept me off my feet.

I loved the plot. It was a homecoming centric book. But it had a message behind it, which was you should always be comfortable with yourself.

I loved the romance. I loved the characters and the baking and all of the nods to the romantic comedy movies. This was another book that is making me want to do a movie night soon.

I also loved how the mean girl and the main girl character ended up becoming friends. If I had any complaints it would be that I wish their friendship was longer and explored, but it was nice to see them set aside their original beliefs and (spoiler alert) stick up for each other.

Cupcake by Cookie O’Gorman was a five star rating book. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me the chance to read and review this. I enjoyed every minute.

I craved a good book for so long. Maybe all I really needed was a cute and mindless YA book.

The moment I knew this book was going to be amazing was the opening scene: Ariel and Toni asking which Avenger they would date. Go with your instinct and pick Captain America. He is always the answer. I will always pick that man idc. I’m usually opposed to having pop culture references, but Captain America is always the exception. And Bridgerton. And Disney Princesses.

Anyways, back to the book.

I relate so much to the curvy queen. I always do when I have a wonderful curvy queen protagonist because I relate to them so much. One of the most memorable moments for me was Ariel’s relationship with her mother. I honestly didn’t care for Rhys. He wasn’t that interesting to me. He gives me the same vibe as the guy that girls liked but was actually just so bland.

This is such a cute teen romance. I loved the portrayal of the main character as being plus size but also being confident. Rhys was adorable and their relationship was also adorable. Great read!

Ohmg, my heart is so full right now! Rhys and Ariel were too sweet together and I absolutely adored how mushy it was.

Plus, I get to see a plus-sized YA romance, where the girl believes in herself and gets the one?? Are you kidding me right now?? It was the best thing ever
