Content warnings: outing ultimatums, gay closeting

I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the first in the series, I felt like some of the characters were slightly off. Kelk's writing was as humorous as ever, but something wasn't quite right.

The title being I Heart Hollywood when Angela absolutely hated it was wildly confusing. I felt like because Angela just felt so awkward and uncomfortable and sad the entire time she was there diminished my enjoyment.

This series is getting to me. It seems to be dragging & in the middle it seemed kind of dumb but I am going to continue reading it.

As you can tell from the title, Angela and Jenny head to LA, and it’s safe to say that Hollywood doesn’t have a space in Angela’s heart like New York does (and I have to agree, I only made it to Hollywood and Disneyland when I went to LA but I definitely prefer NY). ⁣

As you can probably predict, I loved this one! I think I loved it even more this time around as I’ve been to Hollywood since reading it first time, and I always love it when I’ve been where a book is set! I love that Angela and Jenny got their own girls’ trip, even if they had a bit of a third wheel with them who I’m not a huge fan of

I love the Angela Clark books, they are so hilarious. Angela is given the opportunity to fly to LA to interview movie star James Jacobs for the magazine The Look. Along the way
Spoiler James is constantly flirting with Angela and they are constantly being photographed together by the paparazzi. At some point during the story Angela discovers James kissing his assistant Blake. James ends up letting Angela write his coming out interview for the magazine and her article becomes very successful. At the end of the book, Angela's BFF Jenny decides to stay in LA and her boyfriend Alex asks her to move in with him to his Brooklyn apartment. Angela also received a raise at work. I can't wait to see what happens with Angela next in Paris.

The book started out a bit slow, but then the storyline with Angela and James grabs you in, and takes off. I loved this book, I think more than I Heart New York. A great read!! Now I have to go order I Heart Paris.

Overall, I would say this book was not the best. I don’t really know what I was expecting from a sequel but this one was meh. This might have been the reason I didn’t continue reading the series (the first time around), the first one is a good fluffy read but this one is just a hot mess. I mean I know that it shows that not everything in Angela’s life is peachy all the time but this was just one disaster after another and it seemed highly unlikely that it would end in a neatly wrapped bow like it did…

That being said I will give the series a chance, so I will continue on with Angela as she travels to Paris, here’s hoping she actually likes this place a bit more than LA…

I give three stars to this book because it's just not my cup of tea. I think it's more like a beach read, or a very well written fanfiction. It's all for girls and women with fantasies about the perfect life in a big city with a perfect fashion related job and a perfect apartment and a perfect boyfriend. Not to add the "kissing the perfect british actor" part. I'm telling you, not my cup of tea. Reminds me too much of the Sex and the City. I do get that I haven't read the first book yet, so I got my paws on it and I decided to give it a shot. Even reading a bad book is an experience. People say that the first book is better, but I also have like, the fifth part of this series because my friend bought me these two books for my birthday, so I'm going o read all of the books from this series because I never give up. Wish me luck.
