We were brought together by two stories that barely even shook hands with each other in the midst of everything that happened. And what didn’t happen here will never happen anywhere in the world.
A beautifully written and lyrical novel set in 1986 during Pinochet's dictatorship. I read it while I was visiting Chile for the first time, though only finished it once I had returned to the States. It was an engaging read, and I wasn't really sure at any point how things would unfold or where Lemebel was taking us. Recommend!

Me enamoré de esta historia, de la loca enamorada, de la prosa de Pedro, del humor, de lo crudo, lo feo y de lo hermoso.

What a way to start the year. Wonderful book, I'm so glad I picked it up.
