3 1/2 stars. I'll be honest - I wrote "3 1/2 stars" and no more, came back to elaborate, and I don't remember enough about the book 3 months later to elaborate. Ha!

I’m  trying to join a new bookclub lol. This was their November book choice for “Nordic November”. Prior to this I had never heard of this book or author. The book was good, it had enough interesting point to keep me reading. Well technically I listened to it on audiobook. My only issues were there were a lot of characters and most had traditional names so it was hard to remember who was who, but then some people’s name were very common like Carl. So it was a weird kind of this to wrap my head around. I kind of want to read the second book just from what our main characters storyline was and how it ended to see what’s going to happen with his predicament. The murder mystery, I didn’t really care for.

Reads like a young adult novel. Not recommended for old adults.

I was very happy to have come across the first book in a new series by @ragnarjo
A debut novel, superbly narrated by Thor Kristjansson, this is a murder mystery set in Iceland. Well written with an easy flow, this is Nordic Noir at its best. Very much looking forward to number two!

A nice preoccupying mystery without the usual gore! Author was very skilled at making the setting come alive and telling the story without too much wordiness. More like. 3.5 but I will definitely read this author again.
