Oh my word, this book made me ugly-cry... red, swollen eyes and unmentionable fluids!
Some unconscious karmic twist of fate made me choose to read this series at this time. This book, Part 3 in particular, so closely mirrored and reflected my own experiences with the death of a loved one. The fear and anguish as well as the courage and selflessness that are all smushed up together when dealing with a "DNR" order was realistic in its familiarity. A difficult subject beautifully handled!

This wasn't actually bad so much as, well, it's the third book in a trilogy and apparently something pivotally important happens somewhere in the middle that is never explained in this book. I hope it is explained in one of the other 2 books but I was left scratching my head. So: this shouldn't be considered a standalone. Neither should it be considered a romance, because the ending is certainly bittersweet.
