The writing was a bit too flowery. An intriguing premise, with engaging characters...but the writing style was too adjective-heavy. It kept pulling me out of the story :/ As other reviewers have mentioned, there's a bit too much "telling" instead of "showing."

I really enjoyed this book. There were some slow sections and far more scenery description than needed. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

The storyline was a little much toward the end, but the writing was very descriptive and beautiful. THe words the author used created life-like imagery, which really set the scenery in my mind.
