This was a fun book. I was looking for a lighthearted palate cleanser and this definitely fit the bill. It has conflict and a lot of character development, but i would say this qualifies as cozy sci-fi/fantasy (it's really a mix of both). I enjoyed the world and characters and the excerpts from the guide were amusing. Overall it was exactly what I was looking for. It wasn't revolutionary, but it was fun.

I really liked the choice of main character and his background and growth. It was really special to read. The whole world was so interesting, too. Especially with the book excerpts thrown in. A totally fun read.
