4.5 stars. Another wonderful Biblical fiction story from Heather B. Moore! I always love her ability to bring the scripture stories to life and make me think about things I've never really considered in regards to a well-known scripture story. She clearly states in the author's note that her story about Eve is not meant to answer questions or speculate, but instead to "bring to life an incredible man and woman who sacrificed immortality to start the human race."
Through this story, I thought more about the powerful bond and love between Adam and Eve, about the challenges they faced once they left the Garden of Eden, and about Eve's choice in the garden, especially as it relates to our agency. At times, the story felt a bit repetitive and a few things struck me as fairly implausible (like killing a large animal with a crudely sharpened stick), but these are minor complaints. Overall, I loved it!
I received an e-book version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
