I enjoyed this though it didn’t seem to have a strong storyline compared with the earlier books. Nevertheless it’s a engaging string of events liberally sprinkled with those imaginative bits of background information that are the mark of good science fiction. Looking forward to the final book now.

Endymion doesn't quite reach the same heights as its predecessors, but still provides an emotional, action filled adventure in a unique universe.

Much of this book not only sets up but actively discusses the plot to follow in the series' conclusion. While interesting to a degree, this pales in comparison to the rich mysteries and atmosphere achieved in Hyperion. The callbacks were fun, but rarely offered more than a moment of revelation followed by plot summary.

It feels like Simmons only really had one mystery left to reveal after Fall of Hyperion, and has padded the plot with action in order to draw it out. Perhaps the finale will add more to my enjoyment of this book!

Minor Spoilers: Is the third act not just Terminator 2? Not bad, and bolstered by good characters, but also not what I hoped for.

Would really love to see more of the Ousters in the finale after having them in the background for the series so far.

I adore the first two books, this one was so underwelming. Some good elements but pretty boring.

Weirdly reminiscent of Foundation. Hopefully a good set-up to "The Rise of Endymion." (We'll see.) I've been impressed by the first 2 books so far. Each book has been very different, in an awesome way.
