What a Ride!

Another great, exciting, fantastic book by Robert McCammon! Wonderful characters and such an exciting plot! Won’t forget this one for awhile.

Definitely a miss for me from a very good author. 100 pages could easily have been cut from the middle portion of the book. Just too monotonous. We never hear from or about the father after the beginning and I think that was a lost opportunity. The ending was predictable and melodramatic.

This was an absolute roller coaster that much is undeniable, but for me a good portion of the book could have been completely cut out without affecting the plot which made it a little tedious at points despite its fantastic storyline.
Mary Terrell was a member of the terrorist organisation The Storm Front, which disbanded after an ambush where many members were killed or injured. When Mary sees an anonymous member of the group is arranging a meet-up she concludes that it is her dead baby’s father Jack (leader of the front) and decides she will go to the meeting place and bring her Lord a child, all she needs is a baby..

Clocking in over 500 pages, this was essentially one huge road trip filled with lots of action, I was petrified for that baby and his mother. This sat on my TBR for far too long, glad I read it for Old School April!
