I absolutely love this book! It’s near perfection and it’s beautifully devastating 🖤

I loved this fantasy with romance. The pace was brilliant, the scene setting was great, and I loved the plot & characters.

The only reason it’s not a 5 star is that I would have loved a bit more background on the different houses & magic systems but it is in no way lacking and doesn’t confuse the story!

I love Oraya and her story, I love the enemies to lovers trope and chosen one trope too! The challenges faced by her were cruel and relentless and I loved reading about a feisty human woman fighting against the odds!

The ending was brilliant and I can’t wait to start book 2!

Phenomenal. Absolutely divine. I got Kindle unlimited just for this series and it's so worth it, holy shit. It was like I was reading acotar for the first time all over again, but sexy vampires in a scary competition. Like that feeling where you know you're experiencing something for the first time that you will be sad you cannot experience for the first time again later. The TENSION. the DRAMA. The FIGHT SCENES. the MAGIC. the WORLDBUILDING. The BACK TO BACK PLOT TWISTS. I fucking weep. I'm immediately jumping into Six Scorched Roses, I NEED more of this.

My only complaint is the smut. All this insane sexual tension builds up for most of the book and then they finally boink and just. The use of "wet folds" or "slit" is a hard pass for me. Points for outright saying clit, but immediately revoked for calling a vagina a "slit" bc what the hell, that's just as bad as "gash" imho. The cave scene was divine, like kicking my feet twirling my hair giggling smiling perfection. Loved it. But they got naked and the words got weird and it was a turn off for sure. If I have to read "wet folds" in smut one more time I'm throwing myself into the wet folds of the Mariana trench istg.

But besides that, incredible. I read this in like. Two and a half days, at most three? I literally read 80% of this book in one day. So fuckin good. Five stars despite the wet folds.
