This book was witty and was a fun time to read. I highly recommend it for anyone who is a fan of the same tone of writing as Douglas Adams; there are very stupid jokes all while talking about Armageddon and the apocalypse.

The two main characters the majority of this book follows are Crowley and Aziraphale, a demon and angel who have been around since the dawn of time and are the 2 celestial beings that were part of Adam and Eves story. They have been parts of all events through history, causing just enough good and bad to cancel each other out while not impacting mankind too much, for they have the common love and appreciation for the earth. They enjoy their time on earth more than in heaven and hell respectively, and they want to prevent the apocalypse because of this. They enjoy their lives of being able to collect books and cars, and other human hobbies they have picked up over the millennia and don't want that to be ruined by the death of mankind. Crowley and Aziraphale are very fun to follow and they have a wonderful friendship filled with banter and this makes it a real joy to read.

I original watched the first 1-2 episodes of the tv show on amazon prime before learning that this was a book and then stopping to read first. I think it does help having some of the cast in my mind for when I started reading this book; Michael Sheen and David Tennant are both phenomenal in their roles and I feel like they fit perfectly in my mind as the characters. I am excited to go back and watch the show now that I have read the book, and they have just released a season 2.

This book is a fun collaboration between Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, both of whom are fantastic writers. Good Omens is fun and felt to me like it had much more closure than a similar work in my mind, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The only reason I did not give it a 4/5 was because one of the chapters is unbearably long, which is something I quite dislike but is more mechanical than syntactical.

Recently listened to the full production audiobook after reading the print version years ago.

I absolutely loved this audiobook with all the cast voices, including the great ensemble.

This will be one of my most treasured books, despite dated language used which is why I knocked off 0.25.

I wanted to read this book as soon as possible as it is the book that inspired my favourite show. I enjoyed it while listening to the audiobook at the same time. The only issue is that some parts were unnecessarily long or didn't need to be included at all. It would have saved a few pages if these parts were cut and wouldn't have affected much of the story. Anyway, I still enjoyed the book! ^^

At least one of the things at it's core is just being human. That's what the book is about. They're all human. Even Crowley and Aziraphale. I adore the notion that if you spend enough time amongst human beings you become a bit human yourself. And that it's not necessarily a bad thing. Worth preserving the world over, even.
