Quite long. I was irritated with both characters for their lack of communication with each other. They were both so angry all the time. Or sad. Or "woe is me". It got old. I only finished this book because I invested so much time in reading it to begin with.

I'm going to start with the cover. It's better than the cover of the first book in this series, but still not good. If I didn't know who these characters were already, I would think I was reading a YA book. This book is about adults yet they put a picture of a young man in his late teens/early twenties on the cover. I just do not understand the thinking sometimes.

Anyway, another wonderful book if not a wonderful cover. I will admit that there was a time that I almost hated the hero, Nathan. So, so, so pig-headed! To not even want to talk about the past and hear anyone else's version of what truly happened. Ugh! What a you-know-what. I don't think I will be giving too much away when I say I absolutely loved the line, "Thank you, Mr. Darcy." It was just so spot on. Nathan really took quite the "high and mighty" stance while Tolly always seemed to be the martyr. She didn't even realize how much she let others dictate her life. In fact, I think the authors did a great job with that because most of the things were subtle. Things that most women wouldn't even realize were being done to them. I'm glad one of her friends pointed out to her that she was a people pleaser and had to stand up for herself a bit more.

After I read this book I really didn't know why I should have or did root for Nathan and Tolly to end up together, but I did. I guess that's what good writing is all about. I am truly enjoying this series and still cannot get over the fact that it is written by two authors.

More enjoyable than I expected. Golly could have been a stereotypical Southern glamourpuss, but all of the characters had a lot of depth and made you care.
