Such a good story! I’m glad I stuck with it. The book was slow at first and I didn’t really care for the characters until the storytelling began. And apparently I got really attached because I cried my eyes out during the epilogue

Okay so I liked a lot of parts of the book and didn’t
like some parts. Overall I’m glad I read it but I almost didn’t make it through the beginning of the book. Once the story begins in India, that’s where it gets really good. Starting with the negatives - one of the main characters from America, Jaya, annoys me. She is so whiny and self consumed. I just never warmed to her. She’s devastated by miscarriages and the loss consumes her life so she goes to India to find out about her Mom’s upbringing and meets the most beautiful character Ravi. It’s for Ravi and Amisha’s story that I was captivated. The present day story of Jaya was just kinda meh but the story of the people in India was lovely and wonderful. I haven’t learned much about life in India and even less about the history of India so I found the historical fiction piece very interesting.

The storyline is everything you’ve needed in a find yourself in your history, devastating love story. A definite reread.

This book just threw me from my comfort zone. Being from Costa Rica, my experience with the Indian culture and history is not as thorough as I would like. I knew of the British occupation, their cast system, but to read a story that submerges one in the culture and everything they went through is what the power of books is all about.

I loved the protagonist and the pace of the book, needed to read more and more, needed to find the story as much as she did.

I thank Sejal Badani for her book and opening a part of the world to me

I picked up this book as a free Amazon Prime read and had doubts about it, but I really loved it. It was a great story with some Indian culture thrown in that was very interesting to me. I loved the storyline and the characters. I will now be checking out her other book, Trail of Broken Wings because this was such a good read for me.

I stumbled on this book through my Amazon recommendations and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the recommendation. The story line was both heartbreaking and uplifting. About halfway through it became impossible to put down.

A wonderful story, which I think was enhanced by listening on audio.

I read Badani’s first book and loved it, too. The depth of her characters and the complexity of their relationships leaves me heartbroken and uplifted at the same time.
