This was a touching read for me. It deals with the subjects of religion, abortion, adoption, unexpected pregnancy and premarital sex.

The story opens up with a wedding that the groom decides not to attend because he slept with the maid of honor. Sweet huh? Callie, the discarded bride, has a night out to drown her sorrow. When things fall apart at work, she trades in her honeymoon tickets for a trip to the Caribbean. It is definitely where I would go. Her night out she meets a man, on her trip she meets a man and the runaway sleaze Daniel waltzes back into the picture. Callie has a choice to make and it isn't her only one.

I don't want to give anything away. The story was interesting and, to me, fast paced. I read this in one sitting because I honestly could not stop reading. There is a lot of Christianity in this book so if you are not ready for that, this isn't a book for you. I felt the characters were sincere and well done. The issues are relevant to today and the author does make several valid points. I think it is a good book to explore your beliefs with. Especially if you are investigating your beliefs about unexpected pregnancy and its choices. It is easy to say I am pro-choice or I am not. It is entirely something else to be in the position of having to make a decision. I do believe we each make our own decision regarding pregnancy and it is us, and us alone, who deal with the consequences, good or bad. The book would be a good choice for a book club or mother-daughter read with a teenager.
