What I liked about this book:
-I didn’t notice a single typo, which is honestly a rarity when it comes to this genre.
-It was stupid in a fun way

What I didn’t like about this book:

-She gets pregnant. I hate that.
-He basically tortured her and kidnaps her, mid book, and she immediately forgives him
-Peter was too moustache twirling.
-The Smee reveal was kinda dumb and out of nowhere.
-I didn’t like Wendy’s friend Maria. She wasn’t nice. Why are they friends at the end?
-The treatment and writing of women was pretty bad, in general.

This was a great story, and I found myself falling for James right along Wendy. The allusions to the original story were awesome

It wasn't to my taste. Not much seemed to happen that interested me. Things did happen. But I wasn't invested in the relationship or the characters, or the events that were happening.

Holy shit was this a massive disappointment. I love Hook retellings and I loved some of the details that were woven in that make it a clear Peter Pan retelling (NevAirLand as an airline company name deserves a commendation!) but Hook was an epic disappointment as a character and Wendy was a whole new level of frustrating. There are better dark Peter Pan retellings out there, don’t waste your time. The author is clearly too vanilla to be writing something like this

A unique retelling of Peter Pan with a handful of references to the source material. You don't have to be a fan of Peter Pan to love this story.
