Such a slog! Best part was the introduction by Muhammad Abdel Haleem, as well as his footnotes that helped contextualize the book in a way that made you understand the time, place and culture that the Qur'an came out of. I've never read a book where the highlights were the footnotes! If not for Haleem's insights this would've easily been 1 star. EXTREMELY dull, and sorely lacking the prose and interesting narrative of the Bible. Still, I'm happy I read it, as it provided a bit of a window into 7th century Bedouin culture. There were some highlights, but they were extremely rare in the midst of such a repetitive, threatening book. I especially liked how the Qur'an asserts that shooting stars are fireballs that God/the angels shoot at people who are attempting to climb up to heaven and eavesdrop.

لما قد يضع شخص فاني عبد لله وحده تقييم لكتاب رب العالمين ؟؟ لنقل انك اعطيت 5 نجوم للفرقان المنزل من الله وحده لا شريك له فهل بهذا تكون وضعته بمنزلة كتاب اخر اعطيته نفس التقييم ؟

Aqeedah issues regarding the translation where it hides the attributes of Allah in the footnotes replacing it by things that are more "appropriate" wa naouzubillah. This is not the Quran it's an attempt at translation of the Quran. Translation will never match the actual Quran in the language it is written.
This is good for Non Muslims but even then I recommend Saheeh International
