Next paragraph is a synopsis of this book, and I feel like it gives some plot points away, especially if you haven't read the first 2 books, so I'm marking it as a spoiler:
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, driven to uncover Tamlin's schemes and the looming threat of an invading king intent on destroying Prythian. Navigating a perilous game of deception, she must choose whom to trust among the formidable High Lords and seek allies in unexpected places, knowing that one wrong move could lead to disaster.

The last half of this book really flew for me - I think that's where the bump up from 4 to 4.5 stars came from. I think the beginning felt like Maas was still doing some world building (for lack of a better word), which can be hit or miss for me. Overall, still a very enjoyable listen. I was constantly getting on Google, trying to picture the characters and certain scenes - shout out to fan art and AI renderings posted on IG and TikTok for coming through for me in those moments. How the author manages to come up with some of the things in these books is absolutely incredible to me, in a good way. I know there's only 2 other books left in the series, one of them being a shorter story, but if I hadn't known that,
it almost sounded like Maas was wrapping up the ACOTAR series with how this one ended - with such finality & a nice bow. Wonder if anyone else felt the same?

I am unfortunately deeply invested in this series. I mostly enjoyed this installation except there is far too much war for my taste. I wanted more magic and mystery. Also the author’s habit of deux ex machina strikes again but whatever, she can do whatever she wants to me at this point 🤷‍♀️

This is the third book in the ACOTAR series and I am really enjoying the characters and learning more about their backstories and seeing how they interact with one another. There were quite a few times during this book where something totally unexpected happened and I love that in a book. I’m looking forward to starting the next one.

I don't get the hype for these books. I really, really don't. I listened to the audiobook which dragged on for a plodding 25 hours. Like the first two books, the first and last 100 pages are action-packed to the point it's almost overwhelming, but the middle is mind-numblingly boring. We're on the precipice of war, but we can spend weeks and weeks searching for allies that may or may not support us. There are so many threads that just raise questions with no answers (wtf was that Swan Princess side plot that went NOWHERE and "well it sucks for her to deal with that"), and there were three different Deus Ex Machinas in the final fight, Feyre and her friends were so overwhelmed. Idk how a massive world war across dozens of kingdoms can start and end in about 6 hours of audiobook but somehow Mass made it happen. I'd like the other 19 hours of my life back please.
