I feel like the premise of this book was very strong. However, the execution felt rather bumpy. I expected a romance novel filled with sexual tension and lots of spice. I mean, forbidden love and all of that. But somehow the book just rushed from scene to scene without letting you take a breath. Like, Georgie and Ethan meet once and BOOM decide to hate each other. Then they meet for the third time and BOOM suddenly they like each other and have super deep conversations. Idk, for me that felt a bit rushed. Also, there were some issues with continuity that made the book somewhat unpleasant. For example, Ethan claiming he’d never tell anyone about him and Georgie and then suddenly he reveals it to Logan (who isn’t even his best friend). That just felt off.

The spice was good but limited (I did expect more tbh). Their relationship was rather toxic though. Plus, somehow they both completely neglected their friends (we never found out how and if Georgie told Lucy who ‘Theo’ was?!) but they didn’t mind.

And there was something else that really bothered me. Ethan seemed to have had a severe fallout with his family but when he returns home everything is just shrugged of and not talked about any more!? Idk, maybe if the author would’ve left out a lot of the inner monologues of the two main character (which I found myself skipping through because it was just so repetitive), she would’ve been able to resolve some plot points in a more satisfactory way.
