I didn't love every single moment, but this is a damn good book. Reads like one of those short stories from English class that you think about for the rest of your life, but longer and funnier. Felt like Kafka mixed with Neil Gaiman mixed with (cis) womanhood/motherhood anger.

He is portrayed as generally happy, and is never actually physically hurt. Body horror is descriptions of human-to-animal transformations.

Feral, bloody and unholy. A story you can sink your teeth into. The novel follows the mother dealing with the isolation of being a sahm, disconnected from her passion and purpose, slowly turning into a dog.
