Memory of Water by Emmi Itäranta

The writing is poor, the characters are flat, and the plot kinda makes no sense. Just sucked.

I got this off the library shelf because I liked the title.....later I realized that I read a book with the same title "The Memory of Water". The story is good and I enjoyed it more as I further into the story, but I felt like things tapered off near the end, which left me a bit disappointed.

In the "past-world", books couldn't use the same old tropes to scene set, I really didn't like the start - it seemed like a melange of every YA post-apocalyptic novel from the ast few years. But stick with it, as the book ditches a lot of that to focus on the tea ceremonies, and more interesting themes of grief and betrayal. I ended up liking it.
