A wonderful hopefully and sometimes heartbreaking book about life as a trans person as told by a trans person. And not just any person but a celebrity. Because of this book I can imagine how horrible things were for Elliot before he came out, when he first came out, and when he came out again.

The chapters where he reflects on his parents, their reactions, and how they treated him broke me into a million pieces. I love my children and always will; no matter who they are or grow up to be.

Elliot describing what it felt like to finally be able to be his true self and feel comfortable in his skin was so powerful. I’m glad the world has him and this book.

This was really sad, but made me happy that Elliot can be open with himself and his experiences.

This was incredibly raw and inspiring. I highly recommend the audiobook version as Elliot narrates.

Fell asleep for the last hour but there’s no way I’m rewinding it, that was awful.
Non linear narrative that was executed so terribly that you never know where abouts in time you are with Page, WAYYYYY too much talk about poo, an unbearable amount of detail about all the sex he has had and, considering Elliot Page is an actor, awful narration. The whole audiobook was read in a flat, monotone voice that made it impossible for me to get invested in what he was saying since it just sounded like one long drone. It feels cruel to critique someone’s life story so strongly but this book was in desperate need of a great editor and I think would have benefitted from a much later release date to fine tune any and all issues within it.

Not a perfect book, but so important. I’m so glad to have his experience, the beauty of it, the pain of it.
