Heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I love how Elliot doesn’t necessarily tell the story chronologically. It felt authentic and raw, like I was invited in to witness the complexity and weight of his journey. A wonderful memoir.

Elliot Page did a fantastic job at describing and communicating how he was feeling growing up and how he ended up being able to finally be himself.

It was such an insightful book about the struggles of growing up feeling different than everyone else, but not quite understanding why. It's about accepting people the way they are, without trying to change them. Sometimes that includes cutting people out of your life, who can't accept you for who you are.

It was very moving and I felt for him the whole time.
The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars, are the time skips from chapter to chapter. For me, it was a bit confusing trying figure out at what time in his life it happened.

Apart from that, a great book, dealing with some hard topics, but it's also hopeful and I wish him all the best.

Fell asleep for the last hour but there’s no way I’m rewinding it, that was awful.
Non linear narrative that was executed so terribly that you never know where abouts in time you are with Page, WAYYYYY too much talk about poo, an unbearable amount of detail about all the sex he has had and, considering Elliot Page is an actor, awful narration. The whole audiobook was read in a flat, monotone voice that made it impossible for me to get invested in what he was saying since it just sounded like one long drone. It feels cruel to critique someone’s life story so strongly but this book was in desperate need of a great editor and I think would have benefitted from a much later release date to fine tune any and all issues within it.

This was the memoir I didn’t know I needed in my life. Elliot Page’s reflections contained so much Canadian content that I haven’t seen in many books, and loved being able to recognize so many places or cultural touchstones growing up in a similar era. Memoirs are an incredible format to let people in to your lived experiences and takes a lot of courage to write and share. That is no exception in this memoir, and I appreciate the rawness, vulnerability and emotional honesty that Page expresses. I think that if you liked I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy, you’ll enjoy Page’s memoir and his reflections on the entertainment industry, challenging family dynamics, mental well-being, love, and finding and expressing one’s identity in the spotlight.
