isn't it funny how the general public thinks that people from the past were all incredibly serious, uneducated and very proper al the time?
and then one day you come across a Renaissance masterpiece like this that makes you tear up from that peak humour

Vaya librito que es este.

Puedes o no ser fan de la sátira, puede o no gustarte el humor negro y hasta de mal gusto, pero todo eso se queda a un lado cuando lees Pantagruel. Por supuesto que es un libro grotesco en su sentido cómico, pero es de entender que todo son alegorías y metáforas, referencias a todo lo que el autor odiaba y criticaba de los oscuros tiempos pasados, cosa que logra perfectamente al asimilar al hombre medieval con los gigantes y su círculo íntimo.

Rabelais da una clase magistral sobre como desacreditar siglos de pensamiento en pocas páginas, sin elaboraciones con mil demonios de dificultad, ni artimañas retóricas rebuscadas, lo hace con la más "simple" de las comedias.

Les dejo una frase que creo, engloba el mensaje general de la obra:

"En todo grupo hay más locos que sabios, y la parte más grande supera siempre a la mejor"
