It took me a while to get into this one, but once I did I devoured the second half. A brilliant portrayal of New York City told through the eyes of a diverse set of characters who are unknowingly connected and centered around a miraculous event. The number of characters and different narrators throughout the book confused me and even left me frustrated at times. However, the story really pieces together toward the end of the book and makes it all worth it. It was so powerful to consider a man walking freely between the twin towers while simultaneously following stories of loss, grief, love, and consequences throughout the city. The writing was beautiful.
Minor: Addiction, Death, Drug abuse, Drug use, Gun violence, Racism, Sexual content, Suicidal thoughts, Violence, Car accident, and Murder
