I adore Penelope's character, and seeing her get a chance to shine in Romancing Mr. Bridgerton was absolutely lovely! The show really botched her character. I didn't love the ways Colin lost his temper. I know the books were written some time ago, but that doesn't excuse it.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about To Sir Philip, With Love. There were parts that were sweet and surprising, and others that, honestly, made my skin crawl.

When He Was Wicked was far more emotional than I anticipated. This has been the second in the series to bring me to tears, and the only one to do it over and over again (a positive attribute). Very glad to see Francesca get her happy ending.
I also really liked that Michael consistently asks for consent.

The vibes were absolutely immaculate for Pen and Fran. I literally loved their stories to death. Was it the best read ever? Nah, but it was just so fun and made me kick my feet. The only qualm I have was Eloise. The girl was funny, confident and stellar yet she gets the most bland man and story. The death penalty for that tragedy.

There really is a lot of sweetness in these collections and the thread of the family dynamic throughout each, overlapping familiar narratives, is so fun. I get carried away with the stories and the romance while also not kidding myself that these aren’t the deepest most driving books I ever read. But very delightful!
