Move over Jasmine Toguchi (Fancy Nancy and Judy Moody)! We have a new favorite kids chapter book character to love. Can’t wait to read more!

I wanted to like this one...I really did. But as soon as the words so and so "like-likes" you are said from one second grader to another I'm OUT! Sorry, it's a pet peeve. I also felt the same old friendship themes were repeated that we often see in early readers. I just know there's so much more to kids lives than petty fights. I appreciated the thoughtful diversity, the development of Lola's family and the role they play in her life but it wasn't enough to save the book for me.

Really excited for this new series.
With a great cast of characters and kid appeal, this series should be a hit with kids who are ready for chapters.

"Sleep is overrated in my opinion, and I have lots of opinions."

Move over Junie B. Jones, there's a new spunky kid in town! Lola Levine is a sporty, strong young character navigating all the second grade challenges, like friendship and little brothers. I love the diversity and Lola's loving family! Her heart and humor jump off the page, making sure Lola will live on in readers' minds long after they close the book.

A fun book about a soccer loving second grader. Perfect for beginning chapter book readers.

Lola Levine is artistic, sporty, and she pretty much doesn't care what other people think. But when she accidentally hurts a classmate playing soccer at recess, the meanest girl in her class starts calling her MEAN Lola Levine. Can Lola convince her classmates that she's not mean?!

This is a sweet, fun story featuring a diverse family.

I like an early chapter book with a nice character, facing trouble with friends. The writing is a little forced feeling, which is to be expected from an early chapter, and i warmed up to it as the character developed a little. The family relationships are good, and supportive and there is good modeling for siblings. Super sweet problem solving and nice kids abound.

This is good fun -- soccer facts, interesting family dynamics, and a winning main character. Hooray for diverse and fun!

This is a cute fun story with a wonderful main character. I love Lola's spunkiness. A good book for 2nd grade on up.

This book is 900 times less annoying than most early chapter books with female protagonists. Lola is thoughtful without being flawless, playful, likes sports, has a male best friend, and has a range of interests and friends. The book also features diverse characters without using stereotypes or emphasizing it.
