Ahhh, I loved this book so much! It sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions, and quite honestly, I'd love to see it turned into a film!

It's funny, heartbreaking, romantic, and sweet! There's a gag with the FL and Australian ML where they tell each other shitty dad jokes, and I was actually cracking up at them

I think this was Paige Toon's debut novel, and I'll definitely be looking into anything else she's written!

I'd quite enjoy a sequel tbh about their lives together as a couple, but I think I'm just nosy.

Quotes (bare with me bc I read a paperback instead of kindle):

đź“• I try to apologise for being late, but 'sorry' comes out like 'shorry', and it doesn't help that I'm unable to walk down the plank in a straight line.
Did I just say plank? I meant aisle, of course.

đź“•Lucy in the sky with cubic fucking zirconia.

đź“•I glance at him furtively out of the corner of my eye as he puts the cigarette to his lips. I wish I was that cigarette.  Lucy! This is crazy.

đź“•"what the hell is THIS?" She lifts up the pink fluffy handcuffs which are attached to her arm. "Call yourself my best friend and you don't even uncuff me?"

đź“•Frisky business, this Frisbee lark.

Immediately DNF. This book from the first page. The reference between a “fat” bloke and his “skinny” wife put me off reading the rest of the book. Whilst I understand this book is older and that language wasn’t considered rude or taken as personally, it didn’t sit right with me.

This was so cute but verrrryyy toxic at the same time, I was irritated most of the book by Lucy, but the epilogue hit me right in the feels, she made the right decision <33

Lucy must be the most desperate, delusional, hypocritical and immature character I’ve ever come across. So it’s ok for her to get drunk every night and cheat on her long term boyfriend and string both him and Nathan along? Only giving it two stars because it actually kept me from DNF-ing because I needed to know what stupid decision she makes next.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I first read this book many many years ago on holiday in Corfu. I haven't read it since but Lucy and Nathan always stayed with me and when I saw that 2 other bloggers I know were re-reading all of Paige's books before the new one comes out in a few months time I thought I would try to join in. (I am failing badly)

The beginning of this book still gets me. To get a text like that as you get on a long haul flight would be awful! As the beginning of a book goes it is pretty gripping! I still hate James. Oh, what a manipulating two-timing Ahole!

Lucy is such a good character. She wants to believe the best in people and is always looking for the fun in life. Lucy is also insecure. She has some real tough decisions to make and struggles with them throughout the book. Lucy doesn't know whether to listen to her head or her heart and the constant war between the two causes some difficult moments for her.

Nathan is still one of my favourite characters. After James, he is just such a breath of fresh air. He is fun and silly. I love the jokes that they share.

There was quite a lot of this book that I had forgotten so it was lovely to re-read this and I am looking forward to trying to re-read the rest of Paige's books.

I was going to give this 2 stars, but the last 30 or so pages made it better. Exactly what you would expect from a chick lit book, but I read it in 14 hours so can’t be too awful...
