A necessity for every human being on this planet. You will be challenged. You will be uncomfortable. You will grow as a person.

Excellent introduction to the difficult conversations that need to be had about race. A great jumping off point to become familiar with the various issues POC face.

Everyone needs to read this book. It made me think, while also being easy to understand what was being shared, in that everything was explained with examples and anecdotes. If you don’t know why race is a big deal (yes Canada is still racist) then this book will help you to understand and take actions to change things.

Challenging, important, and extremely useful. This book should be read in high schools, colleges, and workplaces across the country.

GUYS! This book is eye-opening, easy to read, and honestly life changing. It talks about both good little daily actions you can take and huge ideas like intersectionality and affirmative action that I didn't even know I didn't know about. Racism puts the responsibility of educating the world about the fact that we White Supremacist society on people of color, which in said White Supremacist society, makes the truth easier to dismiss. Fellow white people educate yourselves! Yep this book made me want to be a racial equality activist, read it and you will to!

Definitely starts a valuable conversation but lacking...something? I don’t know what. Ask me about it when I’ve had time to think.

I read this in one sitting- and I can tell I’ll be thinking about it for much, much longer.

This is a great book!

Yes, some of the concepts were things I am already familiar with, but in written form, with specific tips and scripts, it sits with more weight than trying to glean things from social media posts.

You may already know some, or even most of this stuff, but I think it's still important to read it over and over again. Especially if you are white and want to be a better person (and hopefully ally, but that's something you've got to earn).

This is well written, engaging and thought provoking. Definitely recommend it.

Love the insight, just at moments it was very dragging. It’s a fast read, and an important read.
