A decent read, not top-tier Star Wars comics by far, but quite good for one-shots. Nothing ground-breaking, just characters studies of some bad guys. The Kylo Ren one was quite possibly the best...won't spoil anything, but let's just say it brought out some really cool TCW references I really wasn't expecting.

The "Age of...." run has featured new scenes of some of our Star Wars loves and love-to-hates. The stories and follow-up essays therein usually work to connect the main arc of each character in the films with other pieces of Star Wars lore from new novels or other comics.

The Age of Resistance - Villains book features stories about Phasma, Hux, Smoke, and Kylo Ren. No, we don't get the Snoke origin story that we were all hoping for, bit we get to see some Snoke-Kylo training. Meanwhile Hux and Ren both continue to deal with their pasts in super unhealthy, world-destroying ways. Phasma continues to not give a damn.

Not essential Star Wars reading by any means, this book builds on First Order lore in a nice way and helps wrap up the "Age of..." series.

This comicbook collection features four villain stories from the Resistance Era.
These comics don't necessarily add anything new to the canon, they simply highlight the traits of their respective main character.

Both Phasma and Hux showed how these two characters would do anything to keep their order winning.
Snoke was my personal favourite as it showed perfectly how he manipulated Kylo Ren. This story was almost more about Kylo than Snoke but since it gives actual background to the relationship of the duo that makes perfect sense.
Kylo Ren highlights his snarky sarcasm, one of my favourite things about his character. Seeing him fight a Zillo Beast with more ease than anyone in The Clone Wars managed to do was pretty fun.

All in all, this collection isn't needed to understand the movies better but it is a fantastic highlight of the wit and cruelty of the First Order leaders. Both the Hux and the Snoke comic gripped my attention from the first page and deserve a 4.5-5 star rating. The two others I'd give 3.5-4 stars, landing on a general rating of 4 stars.

Interesting insight, I especially enjoyed the parts about Phasma and Hux.
