Calvin and Hobbes was the pinnacle of syndicated newspaper comics and this collection reflects that. There are some great story arcs in this one, like earning, waiting for, and eventually being let down by a motorized propeller beanie advertised on cereal boxes. I see myself as a kid in Calvin, an incorrigible little spaz who you somehow still have to love.

And then this one I actively liked. Sure it could have been 10 pages shorter. So what was the difference? Being sick with covid? Actually there was a bit more of characters other than Calvin talking. His dad has always been my favorite. But even Susie is fine. This had all the clever writing and pretty good art, but other stuff to balance Calvin's bratty behavior.

This was my grandpa's FAVORITE edition of Calvin & Hobbes. Reading and laughing brings me closer to him, now that he is gone❤️
