re-read, I feel like it's still a good book for new readers. I don't think it's that thought-provoking, which is why I only gave it a 7/10. It's a really easy read and noncommittal, which is good for people who are busy.
The writing is very bland though, which I suppose some people might appreciate. I didn't find it as insightful as I had hoped, considering his social media content is 10/10.

I've previously really enjoyed Ryan Holiday and his other books. However, this book was extremely repetitive in its theme, stories and examples. This book also really lacked any kind of diversity in its stories.

Courage is Calling is an incredible book full of inspiration, uplifting stories and mantras, and emboldening encouragements. I was gifted this book before entering a scary season in my life and it taught me how to face challenges head on, to believe in myself, and to be courageous despite fear. The chapters were short yet filled with meaning and bursts of inspiration. I have since passed this book on to other people who were doubting themselves, needed to understand their power, and learn about the power of courage. Holiday breaks down the virtue of courage in such a great way. I would recommend this book for anybody looking for self-reflection, to improve mindsets, or to push through a difficult time in new ways.

My first book of the year.
It’s actually like a longer version of a pep talk on how to be brave. But still a good read even for people who already see themselves as courageous because of the inspiring stories of and anecdotes from historical figures and events.
4 stars.

Far more politically motivated than he’s other books. His older books were much more focused on facts and details of the past. Check those out!
