I have wanted to read this series for sooooo many years now after seeing the movie that was made, but sadly there was no way for me to get ahold of the physical copies in my country. I got my first kindle a few days ago and was blessed to find out I could read them on my kindle!! I loved the first book, can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Ahhhh... I've been meaning to read this book since I was a middle grader. Can you believe that?

While I was the resident nerdy girl in the library back in my elementary school days, the popular kids always took out the good books and wouldn't let anyone else ever have a hold on them. Guardians of Ga'Hoole was one of those series. No library could keep them in stock so I just... didn't get to read them. Which is sad, because EVERYONE talked about them in my school. I felt so out of place. Lucky for me, I found it at the Goodwill and scooped this book up and basically ran to get it.

I adored it! It's cute, fun, and a lovely read. Definitely has it's sad parts, but I really enjoyed it. I'll be trying to find every other book in the series and then watch the movie adaptation that came out a while ago. I can see why so many people loved this book series when it came out. It's a fun book about birds as the main characters.

I didn't take the book too seriously and tried to bring myself back to how my middle grade self would read it. For fun! And I liked it.

Four out of five stars.

Read this in a morning’s time lol. I’m revisiting these for the first time since I read them as a kid. Everything in St. Aggie’s is very interesting. Twilight and Digger are thrown in too quickly. Surprisingly violent at times!

Soren is one brave owl! I didn't like the owls that snatched him! Course his brother Kludd was, a jerk! This book made me want to crazy and then made me pray as well. Its a good read and I plan to read more.

This looked interesting, and indeed, the first 100 pages or so were pretty good. And then suddenly the tension and suspense ratcheted up significantly, and I read the rest with my heart pounding. Who would have thought a fantasy about owls could be so good? So excited for the rest of the series.

What a weird little book. The majority of this book features some bleak topics, including rampant kidnapping, mind washing, torture, multiple murders, and cannibalism. But the writing is so flat and stilted that the emotion of these plot points never really lands. I also had forgotten how heavily this book integrates owl biology, with a lengthy explanation about how owl’s defecate occurring within the first few pages. Not a particularly compelling opening to the series.
