I liked it better than the first book in the series.
Makes me want to check out more of his books.

Not nearly as likeable as the previous book.

Way too much opening exposition, about the first 10% was straight lifted from the previous book. Also, I was really disappointed in the fact that whatever HFN that the previous book left us with was completly obliterated in this one. Meaning, whatever good that the previous book ended with, was shot to hell in this one.

I got a bit tired of the main heroine character always questioning things and not just accepting what she was being told, even though she had ample time and explainations to understand.

Much like the original, this edgy urban fantasy is as pulpy as it is fun. Not for the faint hearted...

I thought this book would be stupid honestly, since I found it at dollar general, but I read it and was completely astonished that it was sold there. This book was so captivating to me, to me it was completely unique. I loved it.

A bit too long, with quite a lot of telling over showing, the first half I f the book feels like nothing but exposition. However, once those pieces are in place, this horror-fanatsy (more fantasy, really) gets going with a decent plot and a satisfying climax. Interested to see where the series goes from here.
