I both loved and hated this book. It is the most 90s thing I've read in a while. Like watching Full House or something. Such a time capsule. With that it has all the poorly aged comments and ideas of the 90s. It's interesting and the mystery wasn't too obvious. The plot was fairly silly and a lot that happened was farfetched. I got through it quickly and found it fun enough. Haven't tried any of the recipes included. I probably won't read more from the series

Compelling mystery, although the "college" and "my kid is best" talk gets extremely boring. However, it kept me turning pages as I just had to know who the killer was. The end, fantastic.

3. Pretty good and a little tricky.

Barbara Rosenblat does a nice job narrating.

I am listening to the audio version of this book and it is just great. Good pace, just the right amount of chattiness with mystery.

This is a mystery cozy series. Yes, a bit on the chick lit side, but I feel some guys would also enjoy the series since there isn't a lot of focus on 'feelings'. Again, the faster pace of this book helps as well. No blood and gore and not much focus on police procedurals. If you like romance books that don't focus entirely on the romance, you might enjoy this series.

An enjoyable and fun mystery novel. I didn't try to put too much thought into "who done it." I just read it as a way to escape from the real, drama filled life of living in a pandemic. It was good for that. No spectacular writing, but then, these types of books I don't expect that from. Some of the recipes the book contained sound fun, and I might try one or two.

Read all but the last few pages. Maybe I'll get back to it someday.
