this book is fucking wild. I felt like I was on drugs the whole time and I was also deeply unsettled the whole time.

I saw a girl on tiktok say "if Alice in wonderland and mean girls had a baby and then Frankenstein and heathers had a baby, this would be the grand baby" and I totally agree. maybe toss in a
touch of midsommar and that's the best way I can possible explain this book.

fucking wild. go into it as blind as possible and just enjoy the ride.

I loved this. It’s weird, trippy, dreamlike, dark, sad, and funny. Probably a divisive book - I was drawn to the writing and vibes from page one and it only got better from there. If the first third of the book isn’t pulling you in, it might not be for you.

The only summary is WTAF? This is meant to be a commentary on academia and cliques (I think) but I just couldn’t get into it. The text starts with a jump into the action as if we should already know about and care about the characters; I found it very difficult to connect with them at all and the plot was so random that I just found reading it a chore. Cool idea I guess but the execution is just not for me. Also, I read the summary after DNFing and it didn’t seem to get much better. Just not for me.

If you like a book with a definite plotline and solid ending, this isn't for you.
It wasn't bad. It was well written and the voice was interesting and well thought out. It did feel like a feverdream and I'm not 100% sure what was going on most of the time. I liked it enough, but if I hadn't plowed through it, I probably would've put it down and not picked it up again.
