I wanted to like this so bad. the plot sounded fun albeit a little cliche but it was right up my alley. but the writing was not good. main character is a bit stuck in the im not like other girls phase and its weird. romance subplot also makes me cringe and all the side characters are more interesting. unfortunately i can forsee myself reading the second book just to see what happens but it would be out of spite

Rape never actually happens but the characters allude to the possibility of it happening several times while they are in 12th century england.

There is a scene near the end where its implied that an attacker would have tried it but the main character kills them before it can happen
