This is the most awful, betraying, butchered end to a series that I have ever read.

Fun, interesting protagonist? TRANSFORMED INTO BRATTY PLOT ELEMENT.
Hypnotism? PASSED UP FOR OTHER RANDOM MIND TRICKS
Excellent plot with interesting bad guy? NO MORE. JUST NO MORE.
Keeping the feeling of the series alive? NO. THE MOST PERSONAL THING WE GET OUT OF THIS BOOK IS SOME PROTESTING ABOUT HUNTING WHALES.
Possibility for the series to go on? ABSOLUTELY, 100% NO CHANCE. BYNG LITERALLY NOSEDIVED THIS SERIES INTO THE GROUND ON PURPOSE WITH NO CHANCE OF A FIX UP.

That said, I'd like to point out that every single book that came before this was excellently crafted, funny, witty, smart, and with great characters. I don't understand why this book was so unspeakably horrible- did Byng not want to write another one? Was this some effort of the publisher to discontinue something? What...? I don't understand at all.

What I DO get, though, is that no only does this garbage/terrible excuse for a series wrap-up make the rest of the series look terrible but it also was done in a way that flat out showed readers that this was the end. Stranding the story on a desert island with no hope of escape. And no, that's not to be taken literally.

I loved this series. It hurts me how much this book ruined everything.

The first time I read this book, I had not read any of the other Molly Moon books. DON'T do that. DO read Molly Moon books. Start with Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism, then try this one. When I first read it, I enjoyed it, but it just wasn't as good as it could be. Now, rereading it, I realized how good it really was. This is the kind of book that you can read over and over and never get tired of.
Molly has a special coin which makes her a brilliant musician. Now what kind of author would have thought of that? Georgia Byng, of course. With all her books my expectations are extremely high, having read her Molly Moon books, and the books I pick up greatly exceed my expectations. I love, love, love them! I also really like her style of writing; that might be a problem for some people, though. But way more important than the style of writing is the plot, and I love her plots too. For a book about hypnotism, and in this one, magic coins, the plots are strangely believable and the characters are just amazing! I love the way she weaves different characters into her stories like it's easy as pie. At times her books can be a bit confusing, but other than that, her books are THE BEST! I recommend this book to everyone, although children will probably enjoy it the most.

Didn’t read it but already know the ending. Listen, this book series was everything, but after the 4th book it just became apparent that they were trying to extend the series for no reason. I really hope this gets adapted into a Netflix series, but at the same time, I hope they just finish it at the 4th book rather then drag it along like the author did.

A satisfying and disappointing finale. Still worth a read.
